EO maps of wave, current, salinity, and nutrients to support co-location design and planning


 EO PROJECT IMPACT 

  • EOMAP’s EO tools will provide insights into MetOceandata with a higher resolution & less uncertainty than publicly available (e.g. wave, wind)
  • Site location information and monitoring: Water quality, nutrients, seafloor/habitat, sea surface salinity (SSS)

 
PROJECT CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Contribution to an offshore energy-aquaculture colocation use-case by validating and expanding the geographical scope of previous tools and studies to explore the use of wind farms as location for aquaculture.
  • Contribution to a maritime spatial planning use-case for the North Sea led by DMEC.
